BHAWA Better Hearing Australia (WA) are putting on a particularly relevant film festival, called, tellingly, Unheard Stories.  We will be screening four short films showing a range of “lived experiences” for different people with hearing loss. The films will be sub-titled. This will be both a rich and sensitising experience for those without hearing loss, as it is an affirming perspective for those living with the it every day.

The feature film “We Hear You” was produced by three women with hearing loss, and it won an award at 2021 Cannes World Film Festival.

The purpose of these films are to entertain and support HoH people, and to give some understanding of the difficulties of hearing loss to those who have full hearing.

We encourage members of BHAWA to buy tickets and to bring friends and family to see these films the night.

This unique film festival spotlights Deaf and Hard of Hearing storytellers to explore and celebrate their experiences.  You can see it ….
